OKay, I love this shirt. There is something semi hard-core about it, and yet, its totally adorable. IT's a bright blue plaid, but the placket is blacka nd white stripes, and it has a double collar (there is a sepereate plaid one underneath. ) Normally plaid and stripes dont' go, but this shirt is the exception to the rule. Paired with Sonoma cargo corduroys it look so grown up, and yet so sweet. IT's even cute unbuttoned. Or maybe that's just the baby.

I love our troops. As the daughter of a military man, I am a big supporter of our brave armed forces. SO when I saw this darling shirt, with little felt dog tags and the words " LIttle General" I had to buy it. In fact, I bought it in a another size as well. It's even cuter when paired with his little Air Force jacket. Oh, and the jeans are also Sears toughskins.

This sweet little shirt came from Sears, and it was only $4.99! What a great outfit for your little patriot.

LIttle Prince outfits

Here are two adorable outfits from Janie and Jack from the spring prince line. Since my son I our little prince, I thought it only fitting to get these for him. Here are the coverals. They are green and white an orange plaid, with a cute little frog wearing a crown embroidered on the pockets. These overalls are lined with flannel an seem to have some kind of batting in there, because they are very soft an fluffly. The turtple neck is also from the set and it has a cute little frog on the collar and little patches on the sleeves that say Prince on them too.

Adorable little matching shoes, also lined in that nice glen plaid, and with teal patches an little frog princes embroiered on them. These shoes retail for $32 but I snagged them (and every thing else on cleanrance for only $8

Here is the second outfit- a sweet frog prince sweater made of 100% lambs wool.

The shirt inderneath is a polo shirt, with a piped collar, and a little frog on the right breast. THe khaki pants also have little frogs embroired all over them.

THese are from Janie an Jack, and I got them on clearance, but they can still be had on ebay.

Ode to Overalls

I LOVE overalls. So cute, so tough, so convienent. IF you son is like my son, you probably have a hard time keep pants on him. A this age, they have no wiast so pants just fall off. Overalls are a great solution! ANd there are many different styles of overalls from casual to semi dressy. Here is a fine wale red corduroy shirt by Green Dog and overalls by Sprockets. These Overalls are by the brand Next. I don't think its an American brand as all the measurements are metric. I think it'sBritish. the navy blue polo top is by Little Legends.

People say that sweater vests are only for nerds. THis is NOT TRUE. Sweater vests are a very smart and classic style of dress for little boys. In a world of sweat pants and t-shirts that say things like "Boob Man" a little boy in a sweater vest and collared shirt is a welcome change. Sweater vests are dressy without being overly formal. Here, we have an adorable outfit from Mark Jensen (By Sears.) its vaguely h oliday-ish. The sweater vest, which is charcoal gray with red trim has a truck with a tree in the bed and a happy dog in the back seat. The red plaid shirt and black corduroy pants came with the outfit.

We have already seen the sweet penguin sweater vest from Gymboree and the blue one from the Children's Place , and as you can see he doesn't look nerdy at all he looks cute and professional.

THis is a darling outfit by Little Diamonds, a small boutique brand specializing in sweet, traditional little outfits. Here is one little Diamond outfit I have. It is a light blue, white and gray plaid with a white Eton collared shirt which is attached underneath. It looks like 2 peices but is really one. There are cute little VW Bugs embroidered on the front and on the little collar. Both the collar and the sleeves are piped with matching blue plaid material.

I had to do this post because my son has apparntly had a growth spurt, and the first little suit no longer fit right, so I had to get my final pictures.

The beige suit with the vest is from Jolene's Boutique. It was all one peice, and had khaki colored pants, an ivory shirt, and an attached houndstooth printed vest and bow tie, and the collar of the shirt was Eton style. Veyr cute and old-world. I am sad to put it away.

the second suit is a knicker suit from Treasure Connection. It has black and brown houndstooth printed knickers and bow tie (and also hat, but of course he wouldn't wear it.) ansd an ivory dress shirt and knee socks. The charming suspenders have a fancy brocade pattern on them. teh darling bown and cream saddle shoes are from the Children's Place. (Oh, how I love saddle shoes on a little boy! SO cute! So old-fashioned!)

These are little man PJ's, and aren't they cute? They are soft flannel and have elastic waist pants and little button down shirt. The sleeves and cuffs are piped with satin, and are just incredibly soft. They are Toughskins, from Sear. I also got a train pair and a rocket ship pair in a bigger size.

These jammies are nice because the pants are easy on easy off- great for potty training!

Here is another lovely longall by Kelly's Kids, a soft blue and green plaid flannel with appliqued dinosaur is a soft, suede like material. It also has cute oversized shoulder buttons, and a handy belt in the back. THE shirt is by Tweedle Dee, and it is a very fine wale corduroy with pearly buttons down the front and a square collar on the back. It is an interesting shirt from the material alone, and the square collar flap is just cute. Shoes by Baby King.

Here's another fun option, especially for little boys like mine- who have issues keeping up their pants. Longalls are like overalls, only a bit more formal. They are often made of soft fabrics like corduroy and velvet, or plaid flannel. THey often are smocked or otherwise embelished. Here is one by Kelly's kid's called CHocolate girrafe. The giraffe is embroidered in baby blue thread with little blue buttons for spots. The shirt underneath is the same BT kids shirt from earlier, but a peter pan collared shirt or blue turtle neck also works well. I have lots of longalls, and other's will be mentioned as they arise.

Kelly's Kid's is a boutique "trunk show" brand, with representatives who hold parties. These can be quite pricey, but can often be had for a steal off of Ebay. THey are very nice because they are always lined with cotton or flannel, and have adjustable buttons on the shoulders for making them longer. They also have little 'belts' of sort on the back, so they aren't super baggy, but they also make good handles.
